Our Beliefs

At Awaken Church we believe there is one true, living God who created all things: the heavens, the earth, and all living things therein.

We believe that Jesus is the Christ (the promised Messiah), the only begotten son of God, full of grace and truth, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born to the virgin Mary.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the exact representation of his Father, and that His purpose on earth was to offer forgiveness of sin through his blood sacrifice to all who accept Him as Lord and savior.

We believe Jesus suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, was buried, descended to the dead, and rose to life on the third day.

We believe Jesus is our high priest who is familiar with our pain, suffering, and temptations and lives to make intercession for us seated at the right hand of His Father in heaven.

We believe Jesus will come again and will judge the living and the dead.

We believe in Holy Spirit, that He dwells within every believer who accepts Jesus' offer of forgiveness and cleansing of sin--that Holy Spirit gives gifts to every believer, gifts that are for building up the body of Christ, which is His Church, throughout the earth.

We believe in the communion of all believers. That we each have been cleansed of sin only by Jesus' sacrifice and that by His resurrection we are given eternal life.

We believe that the Bible is inspired by God, and as such is the measure by which we discern whether our words and deeds are in line with the nature, character, purpose and will of God.
